July flew right past me! I'm still in shock that it's already August. We made some great progress on our 2013 Resolutions! We celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary this month! One of my resolutions is to be more thankful & I gotta say that I am thankful each and every day that I've spent with my hubby!

Ok, so when I said that I'd do this on a weekly basis..I lied. I missed last weeks post! I did all of the uploading though, so I didn't completely fall off of the wagon! The album that I went through is a mixture of different trips all around England, so I'm not exactly sure where each shot was taken, but it was still amazing to go through them all!

I have a new project! I love having things to work on and plan out! This new project involves scanning all of dad's old photo albums. I've decided to devote one evening per week to this task and decided that Thursday would be perfect as it's Throwback Thursday (#tbt on instagram, twitter, etc)! I started off with these shots from our trip to Athens, Greece & it took me about 20 minutes to get all of the scanning done. The cropping, fixing red eye and tagging places & faces in Picasa took a bit longer, but it was all worth it! I am so excited to have all of these pictures on my computer now!

We made it to the halfway mark of the year!!! I can honestly say that I feel great about my 2013 Resolutions thus far. Sure, I have days or weeks where I'm not totally happy with my results, but it's still been great overall. We still use each Sunday to discuss our progress and although it can be frustrating, it's also rewarding to know that we're sticking to our plan.

I'm so excited for summer! Camping is one of my favorite things to do during the summer and we recently went out to the lake for a fun weekend camping! We try to go to once a month during the warmer months, so that we can swim in the lake, hang out by a fire at night and enjoy the sounds of nature while we sleep. Look at the view from our campsite!:

I'm at it again! I'm grilling up delicious tin foil dinners every chance I get :D I made two different tin foil dinners this last camping trip. I wanted something to satisfy my sweet tooth, so I picked sweeter veggies to throw into the foil packets. It turned out great! Scroll to the bottom for a printable recipe card.

We went camping this past weekend and so before we left I went to Pinterest for some ideas for what to eat when I came across a recipe for Brown Paper Bag Eggs & Bacon. The recipe stated that I could line the bottom of a brown paper bag with bacon then crack an egg or two in there, fold the bag at the top then place it over the fire until the grease is about halfway up the bag. My husband's instant reaction was, "won't it catch fire."
Here's the start of our meal:

If you've reading any of my camping posts then you know that I LOVE grilling and eating Tin Foil dinners! The best part about making Tin Foil dinners is that you can throw just about anything in the foil packet & grill it. This time we decided to experiment with adding beans to the mix! It turned out amazingly delicious! There's a printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

I recently had a Potluck Picnic in the park with some friends and I wanted to make sure that everyone left with a unique favor. I was thinking of getting little buckets, but the price on those sure adds up! Then, it came to me one day that I could turn paper bags into little picnic baskets! Luckily, what I imagined worked out and I ended up with some adorable favors!

It's June already! How'd we get here so quickly?! Five months of the year is gone already and thankfully, I can look back and say that I'm still sticking to my resolutions. The hubby and I still discuss them every Sunday night before we go to sleep and take notes on how we've done in our Google Calendar event.

Great news! I've got a new craft to share. Bad news :( I forgot to take pictures along the way! Sorry folks! I will try my best to explain each step.
Ready for another recipe that will have your mouth watering by the end of my post & have you rushing to the grocery store for the ingredients? Well, you're in luck because I have just the thing! There's a printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.
You know that scene in Yes Man where Jim Carey's character meets Zooey Deschanel's character early in the morning for her photography class? You don't? Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qhpbDI-8TE. Well, I did it. The hubby and I went for a job to the library and back & I took these pictures. I never slowed down for a picture & none of them were edited.

I saw on idea on Pinterest recently in which the blogger made a passport for visiting different restaurants. I was intrigued by the idea, but I wanted the goal of my summer to be seeing the sites instead of eating around the sites, so I came up for a summer passport filled with places to go visit around where I live. The goal is to go to all of the places by the end of the summer. Wish me luck!

It seems that many of my parties, and parties in general, seem to be centered around getting fat with my friends. Since I'm working on a resolution to hit a healthy BMI this year, I jumped at the idea to throw a fitness party after I read about it on SparkPeople. I planned it all out using Google Drive by creating a shared document that my hubby and I could both contribute to. My document had tons of lists including menu, activities, guests, shopping, etc. Once I had the plan, the party was easy!
Here's my shopping loot. I focused on fresh!
I have another great report on our resolutions! April was a whirlwind because we had so much going on, but we managed to stick to our resolutions. We went to California for my mom's wedding (I cried!), I had my last week with Child Protective Services which required a bunch of overtime, my hubby started grad school, my dad visited from Kazakhstan for a week and I started my new job as a Long-term care Social Worker at a nursing home. It was busy, but we stuck to what we set out to do this year :)
We completed two 5Ks in April. One of the races was themed famous couples, so we went as Tony Stark and Pepper Potts. It's hard to tell, but my hubby's shirt has an Arc Reactor!

March turned out to be a spectacular month for resolutions! I am happy to report that not only did I complete my first 5K running, but I ran another the next week! That's right, two 5Ks this month. Here we are right before the first race. I completed it in 36 minutes! The next race was a few seconds longer (I had to stop and tie my shoelaces 4 times because it was so wet!).

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and the flowers are in bloom, so it's time for all things spring! As with every season, it ushers in new decorations around my home :) This year I had the brilliant idea for a new wreath. Follow my instructions to create your own springtime wreath!

It's already the end of February! The month went by incredibly fast! I'm still working hard on my 2013 Resolutions.
The hubby and I are on the last week of the 5K Your Way Rookie Running Program. I am in absolute shock about how far we have come in just 8 short weeks of training. Our race is in March and we are registered and ready to go! Look at all of the spots that say tracked:

If you love tacos and love pasta, then this recipe is a must for you! It's creamy, flavorful and contains some delicious peppers. I'm a huge fan of using red pepper in my recipes because it adds color and an amazing flavor. There's a printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

I posted about my 2013 resolutions at the start of the year in this post: 2013 Resolutions and I let you all know that I'd be checking in throughout the year to update everyone on my progress. Thankfully, I'm still going strong and have definitely made some progress on my resolutions!

Remember how fun sleepovers and hanging out in your pajamas were as a kid? Well, I see no reason to discontinue the fun which is why I threw a pajama party for my friends and I! It wasn't a sleepover; just a party in which the dress code was pajamas :)
We had the basic idea, the next step was to figure out all of the details. My husband and I created a Google Drive document to place the ideas for food, activities, invitation wording and guest list. Whenever we had a new idea, either of us could go on and make changes to the document. Next, I created the invite and mailed them out.
|It's in the shape of pajamas of course!|

This blog is long overdue with Thanksgiving being nearly two months ago, but better late then never, right? Baking a Thanksgiving Turkey is one of my absolutely favorite things to do because I have many wonderful recipes for the leftovers! This one is sort of a Thanksgiving tradition for my dad to make and he passed down his secret ingredient to me. I like you guys so much, that I'll share that ingredient ;) There's a printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

This is my dog Buffy:
I have had Buffy since I was 12 years old. I lived overseas for most of my life, moving from base to base every few years, so my family decided not to get a pet because it would be hard on the animal to move and go through quarantines. When we moved to Texas, my brother and I begged to get a dog, so once we were settled into an apartment, we set out for the Humane Society. We found 5 month old Buffy shaking in the back of her kennel and she became a part of our family shortly after that.

I found this delicious recipe for Creole Sausage with Red Beans and Rice from Pearls, Handcuffs and Happy Hour and made it to the tee. Next time, I was ready to make my changes! There are only a couple because the original recipe was amazing, but I had to make it more colorful and tone down the Rotel kick (just a bit)! There's a printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

Happy New Years! Good luck in your resolutions!
I know what you're thinking; resolutions are dumb and never work. Well, with that attitude, of course they don't work! 2013 is a new year and a new chance to start fresh with new resolutions. If we stop trying to better ourselves, then what happens? I refuse to give up!

I hope that everyone enjoyed their holiday! I had a ton of fun this Christmas season with all of the baking, partying and spending time with my amazing friends and family :) Here is a round up of my pictures from this holiday!
One of my favorite ornaments!
