Another Camping Adventure

Now that the weather is slightly (only slightly) below 100 degrees here in Texas, my hubby and I decided to go camping again.  We didn't go camping the last two months due to the extreme heat, so we've been looking forward to this trip since we booked it last month.

Home Sweet Home!  We bought this tent a few months ago and I just adore it!  It's the Montana 8 from Coleman.  The C shaped door was great for keeping bugs out and our dogs in.  We kept the pups out with us for the most part, but since they weren't allowed in the bathrooms or the beach part of the lake, it was helpful to have a sure proof way of keeping them in the tent.

Bones is King of the Campground!

Buffy is far better at weathering the elements than Bones!

Buffy is such a great little camper!

The hubby and I had a ton of fun playing card games, cribbage and my new favorite game Bocce!  We bought the Bocce set a few months ago, but haven't had a chance to play it yet.  If you haven't played Bocce before then here is a tutorial: Bocce Tutorial.

My strong hubby won most of the games, but I got it a couple of times.

My first time playing Bocce.

My first winning game!  That's my red ball right next to the white one :)

We brought our tablet and watched part of Despicable Me on Friday night then finished it on Saturday night.  I love the minions!  Here is the one that lives in my office:

Now onto the food!

Saturday morning we had some delicious Jimmie Dean Sausage.  We brought a baking pan and some aluminum foil so that we could cook our meals easily then have an even easier clean up.

We filled our turkey dogs with Colby Jack and Pepper Jack cheese.  We were going to wrap them in bacon, but we forgot to pack it!

The finished product; ready to eat!

For dinner on Saturday we made another Tin Foil dinner.  This one is filled with ground beef, red potatoes (quartered), chopped onion and a package of frozen veggies (corn, peas, carrots & green beans).  We packaged everything minus the potatoes in together Pyrex containers then froze them the day before heading out to the camp.  The potatoes went in a separate Pyrex container with olive oil & seasonings.

On Saturday we were able to empty our Pyrex containers into Tin foil then throw them onto the grill.

The finished product.  It was amazing & incredibly filling!

On our final day at the camp.  We made a package of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls.  This took about an hour to cook on the grill.  They were absolutely perfect!

A view of the lake from our campsite.

We had a great time out on the campsite and plan on going again in a month!
