Here is a collection of picture describing my Christmas :)

My husband and I spent the weekend on the River Walk in San Antonio.  It was absolutely gorgeous!  The city switched to LED lights this year so the river was brighter than usual.

Christmas Gifts!

Every year I make a little something for everyone. We've done tins filled with baked goods, mason jars containing cookie mix and plates of Christmas cookies so far.  This year I decided that we should give everyone hot chocolate since I found this recipe from Mom Advice and it was so delicious that I had to share!

A Snow-Inspired Centerpiece for Winter

I recently came across this centerpiece from Cleverlyinspired & loved everything about it!  It's pretty, looks like snow & reuses wine bottles, so I decided to make my own :)

My Christmas Wreath

It's a new holiday season, so my door needed a new wreath!  I used Pinterest to figure out what kind of wreath that I wanted to make and then settled on a deco mesh wreath like this one from Mardi Gras Outlet.

Sandal Upgrade

This post is all about upgrading a plain, boring Dollar General pair of sandals to something more fun :)  I used the retrocam app on my phone for this post because well, I haven't used it in a while and I thought it'd be a nice change! :)

Halloween Wreath!

I LOVE Halloween.  It is my favorite holiday and decorating for it each year is one of my favorite things to do :)  This year I decided to make a nice wreath for the holiday instead of covering my door with the grim reaper (I moved him to a window this year).

Planning a Dinner Party

For my husband's birthday, I decided to throw a dinner party so that I could show off my culinary talents, use the decorating tips I've received from Pinterest, give my friends a chance to put their best outfits on and of course, celebrate the birth of my favorite person in the whole world!  Since my husband's birthday fell so close to my friend's birthday, it became a joint party and I got someone to help me out with the party plans!

Happy Fall!

Although Texas hasn't caught up with the changing of the seasons, I'm still forging ahead with changing my decorations!  I recently found this craft from The Swell Life on Pinterest and I immediately knew that it was a craft for me!

Cheapest Porch Decoration Ever!

This is another inspiration from pinterest.  I saw this a few months ago and it took me forever to finish it, but I'm glad that I finally did!  I had the cans in my freezer (this will make sense soon!) just waiting for me to turn them into beautiful decorations!

Garlic Parmesan Roasted Potatoes

I recently made this potato dish as a side to my baked chicken.  I cut up the potatoes, then just started adding stuff that sounded like it would be good with the potatoes. This recipe isn't anything special, but it sure was delicious, so I thought that I'd share!

My First Time with Poymer Clay! It Involves Angry Birds!!!

My friends over at are amazing with clay charms and magnets and their work inspired me to make some magnets of my own! Since Angry Birds is huge right now, I decided to make Angry Birds magnets, so that I could set a scene on my fridge of the birds going after the evil pigs!

I LOVE making tortillas!  It's super cheap, so when my hubby and I lived in a 350 square foot apartment and his $8/hr a job was our only income we made a lot of tortillas.

My New Cake Stand

I love to bake, but until recently didn't have a place to display my baked goods! On Pinterest, I recently found a DIY for a cake holder made out of a plate and a cup, so I decided to make a trip to Goodwill so that I could make one of my own :)

Presents for Geeks

Two of my friends moved into a rental house a few months ago and so I decided to make some geeky housewarming gifts for the two :)

My friend loves mustaches!  I decided that he needed more mustaches in his room, so that's when I came up with the idea for pillowcases that had one huge mustache.  With these his room definitely makes the statement "I like mustaches!"  I bought the super cheap white pillowcases from Wal-Mart, then I used black fabric paint and free-handed each side of the 'stache.  Before giving these to him, I put them back in their original packaging, so when he opened the gift it looked like I just gave him plain ole boring pillowcases!  It was great when he pulled them out and saw what they really were :)

Here is a computer wreath for my computer technician friend :)  My hubby (also a computer tech) helped me take apart an old computer so that we could make this.  First I wrapped a wreath with green yarn like I did for the wreath on my door, which took forever!  I definitely recommend putting a television show or two on while you do it.  Next I arranged the parts how I wanted them and started hot-gluing them in place.  At the top I used colorful computer cords to create a bow, so that it looked more like a wreath.

These two projects were way fun, incredibly cheap and most important, they were personalized for two great friends :)

My Wedding Shelf

The different wedding items have been moving around from shelf to shelf for 2 years now, but since my hubby and I redid our second bedroom and added a large bookshelf, everything gets to be together on my new wedding shelf :)

Nail Art

Ok, so I am wayyyy not very good when it comes to doing my nails, but I still love to do them!  I don't have the steadiest hand, so all of my nail designs can be done by anyone, so I thought I'd share :)

Organize Your Jewelry!

My jewelry was all over the place and it was getting really difficult to find certain pieces so I decided that it was time to get organized!  It was getting to the point where I was only wearing what was on top because it was easier than sorting through the mess!

Make a Door Wreath to Welcome All!

I have seen a few awesome wreaths on Pinterest and I finally decided to make one of my own!  Our home wasn't nearly as inviting until I made this project.

I absolutely love baking and trying out new recipes.  Here are a few recipes I've made in the last few months with links where I got the recipe if there is one :)

These were a Valentines gift for my husband.  Every year I buy him cherry cordials since they're one of his favorite treats, but this year I decided to put a spin on them.  These cherry cordials were baked inside of brownie mix and placed in muffin cups.  I call them cherry bombs!  He absolutely loved them.  Oh! I froze the cordials so that they would keep some of their consistency throughout the baking process.

Homemade Decorations

This is my first blog and I've decided to devote it to decorations that I've made around my house.

I took an old window frame and turned it into a personalized decoration for my dinning room.  It took a while to sand it down, but it was well worth it!  I edited the pictures of my dogs in picasa to make them the same colors as those in my dinning room.
