Summer Passport 2013

I saw on idea on Pinterest recently in which the blogger made a passport for visiting different restaurants.  I was intrigued by the idea, but I wanted the goal of my summer to be seeing the sites instead of eating around the sites, so I came up for a summer passport filled with places to go visit around where I live.  The goal is to go to all of the places by the end of the summer. Wish me luck!

Fitness & Wellness Party

It seems that many of my parties, and parties in general, seem to be centered around getting fat with my friends.  Since I'm working on a resolution to hit a healthy BMI this year, I jumped at the idea to throw a fitness party after I read about it on SparkPeople. I planned it all out using Google Drive by creating a shared document that my hubby and I could both contribute to. My document had tons of lists including menu, activities, guests, shopping, etc. Once I had the plan, the party was easy!

Here's my shopping loot. I focused on fresh!

April 2013 Resolutions Report

I have another great report on our resolutions! April was a whirlwind because we had so much going on, but we managed to stick to our resolutions. We went to California for my mom's wedding (I cried!), I had my last week with Child Protective Services which required a bunch of overtime, my hubby started grad school, my dad visited from Kazakhstan for a week and I started my new job as a Long-term care Social Worker at a nursing home. It was busy, but we stuck to what we set out to do this year :)

We completed two 5Ks in April. One of the races was themed famous couples, so we went as Tony Stark and Pepper Potts.  It's hard to tell, but my hubby's shirt has an Arc Reactor!

March 2013 Resolutions Report

March turned out to be a spectacular month for resolutions!  I am happy to report that not only did I complete my first 5K running, but I ran another the next week!  That's right, two 5Ks this month.  Here we are right before the first race. I completed it in 36 minutes!  The next race was a few seconds longer (I had to stop and tie my shoelaces 4 times because it was so wet!).

Spring Wreath

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and the flowers are in bloom, so it's time for all things spring! As with every season, it ushers in new decorations around my home :)  This year I had the brilliant idea for a new wreath.  Follow my instructions to create your own springtime wreath!

February 2013 Resolution Report

It's already the end of February!  The month went by incredibly fast!  I'm still working hard on my 2013 Resolutions.

The hubby and I are on the last week of the 5K Your Way Rookie Running Program.  I am in absolute shock about how far we have come in just 8 short weeks of training.  Our race is in March and we are registered and ready to go!  Look at all of the spots that say tracked:

Taco Pasta Bake

If you love tacos and love pasta, then this recipe is a must for you!  It's creamy, flavorful and contains some delicious peppers.  I'm a huge fan of using red pepper in my recipes because it adds color and an amazing flavor.

January 2013 Resolution Report

I posted about my 2013 resolutions at the start of the year in this post: 2013 Resolutions and I let you all know that I'd be checking in throughout the year to update everyone on my progress.  Thankfully, I'm still going strong and have definitely made some progress on my resolutions!

Avocado Tacos

I absolutely love avocados! Avocado Tacos happens to be one of the best ways to use avocado in an incredibly delicious way.

Pajama Party!

Remember how fun sleepovers and hanging out in your pajamas were as a kid?  Well, I see no reason to discontinue the fun which is why I threw a pajama party for my friends and I!  It wasn't a sleepover; just a party in which the dress code was pajamas :)

We had the basic idea, the next step was to figure out all of the details.  My husband and I created a Google Drive document to  place the ideas for food, activities, invitation wording and guest list.  Whenever we had a new idea, either of us could go on and make changes to the document.  Next, I created the invite and mailed them out.

It's in the shape of pajamas of course!
